The incredible #ialso100 celebrating International Women’s Day 2025 at the House of Lords

The event, hosted by Small Business Britain and featuring the annual ƒ:Entrepreneur campaign championing 2025 female entrepreneurs, celebrated the 2025 intake of the ‘#iAlso100’. Kathy is a 2021 alumnae, and joined the event to celebrate the most inspirational female entrepreneurs, selected for making a powerful impact by female business owners to the UK economy, communities and society.

Kathy has been recognised as a Buy Women Built brand, Small Business Britain 100, Top 100 Inspiring f:entrepreneur, Top 15 Entrepreneurs to Watch in the Southeast, Top 12 Female Entrepreneurs to Watch in the South East, FSB’s Community Business of the Year, Surrey’s Community Business of the Year, and Biz Bubble’s Community Business of the Year. She has received the Silver Award for: Best Woman in Marketing & PR, Tech/STEM and Best New Business.

Kathy is a purpose driven entrepreneur and communications leader who empowers communities to act and drive change. She is the founder of DigiKind, Ltd and co-founder and partner at Amplia Group. Recently she has joined the UN Women UK Commission on the Status of Women as a volunteer attendee. She has shared her consulting expertise on a pro bono basis to young entrepreneurs and women from diverse backgrounds for various organisations, including the Wildlife Trust, UprisingUK and Royal Holloway School of Business.

Kathy, wearing a dress she hand painted and a scarf she made, enjoyed the inspiring speeches by her fellow entrepreneurs.

Kathy recently has launched a new business where she creates wearable art, bespoke scarves, hand painted clothing, and personal stationery. She said:

“Everyone has a story to tell, and I wanted to create a collection where people feel they can wear art on their sleeve. I believe in celebrating our uniqueness, our beauty and self-expression in the most authentic and sustainable way.”

Launching Friday 25th April 2025 with an exclusive invitation-only event in Soho, Kathy is proud to announce her ethical, sustainable brand of wearable art to the public. With over 25 years in delivering award-winning results for global tech companies, US-based climate advocacy groups and local independent clients, Kathy has now realised her personal goal, in launching this new brand. Each piece in the collection is designed and hand painted by Kathy, printed by a GOTS-certified organic silk partner in the UK, and hand finished in France.

Kathy was inspired by the day in Westminster, meeting and celebrating fellow founders from across the country, as well as special guests, which included representatives from across Government and the King’s Trust.

The special event brought together hundreds of inspiring female business owners from across the UK to showcase their powerful economic contribution and the transformative, positive impact that entrepreneurship can have on women.

Speeches on the importance of International Women’s Day for female entrepreneurs were delivered by Michelle Ovens CBE, Founder of Small Business Britain, Maria Vidler, Chief Customer Officer at Starling Bank, Emma Heal, Managing Director of Lucky Saint and entrepreneur Jessamine Hislop, founder of Little Pickles Markets who features in this year’s #iAlso100 campaign.

“The drive and determination of women-led businesses across the UK is nothing short of remarkable. Despite the entrepreneurial load of running a business, women are demonstrably happier and more confident for taking on that challenge and making a huge impact through their businesses,” said Michelle Ovens CBE, founder of Small Business Britain and the ƒ:Entrepreneur campaign.

“Through the f:Entrepreneur campaign, we want to foster this confidence and creativity to boost women’s successes this year and beyond, which will drive so much growth and recovery for the UK as a whole. It was great to have amazing women join us for the day to recognise their value and impact on entrepreneurship.”

Now in its ninth year, the campaign reflects how female entrepreneurs continue to thrive in the UK despite persistent economic challenges.
